INSTAGRAM IS TESTING ADS THAT ARE ‘UNSKIPPABLE’ AND CAN'T BE SCROLLED PAST

Instagram is trying out something new called "ad breaks." This means that when you're scrolling through your feed, you might have to stop and watch an ad before you can keep going. Some users on X and Reddit have seen this feature, and Instagram confirmed they're testing it. They'll let us know if they decide to make it a permanent part of the app.

It has come to the attention of some users when looking at stories and posts, that after scrolling for a bit, Instagram made them stop and watch an ad before they could continue scrolling. They even showed a timer telling them when they could start scrolling again.

When the user tapped on the ad break icon for more info, Instagram explained that sometimes you'll need to watch an ad before you can keep browsing.

In conclusion, Instagram's testing with ad breaks represents a strategic move to enhance advertising capabilities on the platform. By introducing interruptions to the scrolling experience, Instagram aims to capture user attention more effectively, providing advertisers with a valuable opportunity to deliver impactful marketing messages. As this feature evolves, advertisers can expect increased visibility, engagement potential, and opportunities to connect with their target audience, ultimately driving business results more efficiently on Instagram.
